Mr. Schmidt is an experienced civil litigator and business attorney. He represents and advises clients across a variety of industries, including insurance companies in coverage and construction disputes, and the defense of personal injury actions, and financial services clients in both commercial and consumer disputes. He also advises clients on contract drafting and corporate compliance, and has handled matters involving breaches of contract, asset recovery and a range of business torts. He also has significant experience with employment litigation, including trade secret and non-compete claims.
Mr. Schmidt manages cases throughout the litigation process, including pre-suit demands and negotiation, all facets of discovery and motion practice, and trial. He is well-versed in various means of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Mr. Schmidt advises clients ranging from Fortune 500 Companies to small businesses and individuals, and quickly shifts to achieve results to best serve his clients in any circumstance.
Mr. Schmidt is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Ohio and Kentucky, before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
ASSOCIATIONS & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Mr. Schmidt is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association. Mr. Schmidt is actively involved in the Greater Cincinnati community. He is a member of the Mt. Lookout Community Council, and is a member of the Washington University in St. Louis Alumni and Parents Admission Program for whom he interviews prospective students.
Mr. Schmidt is a native Cincinnatian and graduate of St. Xavier High School. He later attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity and the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. While at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Mr. Schmidt served on the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution, and the Moot Court Negotiation Team.
Mr. Schmidt currently resides in Anderson Township with his wife and young children.
